Looking Ahead: Accelerating the Circular Economy Together
As we reflect on the past year, one thing stands out above all: progress. Not just in what we have built, but in the collaborations we have started and the direction we are moving in together. We are proud to be working with 50+ circular pioneers, and we are highly motivated to build on this foundation in the year ahead.
At Cirmar, we work with frontrunners in the circular economy—organizations that are navigating the complex journey towards maximum circularity. Over the past year, our platform and ecosystem have grown significantly, and we would like to share a few highlights that illustrate this momentum.
Highlights from the past year
A rapidly growing ecosystem Dozens of new organizations have joined the Cirmar platform. This includes producers of biobased materials, suppliers of personal protective equipment, cleaning products and packaging, as well as many parties active at different points in the value chain. This diversity is essential: the true value of Digital Product Passports lies in connecting every link in the supply cycle.
New features in the platform We expanded our application with several new features. Users can now add detailed supply chain information, manage labels and certificates, and retrieve product data directly via article codes (GTIN). These steps bring us closer to scalable, reliable product transparency.
Research as a driver of impact Multiple research projects have been launched and approved. We see this as a crucial part of the transition to circularity. Beyond Digital Product Passports alone, circularity raises complex questions around data scaling, material challenges and closing loops. Through applied research, we actively contribute to solving these challenges.
What we are focusing on next
While we are proud of what has been achieved, our focus is firmly on the year ahead. Together with our partners, we will continue to:
Create value through circularity in multiple, tangible ways
Support frontrunners with insights, practical tools and strategic advice
Further develop our application, including deeper insights into cost components of materials and products
Anticipate and respond to increasingly concrete compliance requirements around Digital Product Passports
Above all, preserve the quality and value of materials across the value chain
By doing so, we are collectively building a resilient, circular economy for Europe.
We are grateful for the trust and collaboration of all our partners. Our work continues, and we remain fully engaged and accessible as we move forward together. We look forward to strengthening each other’s efforts and making measurable, positive impact through circularity in the year ahead.
